May, 2025 – OMAEC, the World Organization of Alumni of Catholic Education, is happy and rejoices at the news of the election of the new Pope Leo XIV and expresses its desire to accompany him on the path of the Gospel.
He will be the second Bishop of Rome from America with a Latin heart and an Augustinian soul. A Lion who will have to know how to read the signs of these new modern times with balanced perspectives and courageous words.
Surely, Leo XIV will also work along the lines of Francis for migrants, the weak, and the discarded, and for the Church´s Social Doctrine to address the challenges of “artificial intelligence” for human dignity. We hope he promotes the participation of lay people within a “synodal” framework.
From OMAEC, we join the Supreme Pontiff Leo XIV in his message of peace and hope.
