Dr. Priscilla Acevedo, accompanying young people in providing medical care to patients at the San Jose Home in Panama, run by the Missionary Sisters of Charity of Calcutta.<\/p>\n

Inspiring others is a beautiful thing that builds over time and effort.<\/p>\n

I remember when I entered medical school and attended medical tours, I noticed that few doctors gave their time to this educational work, which is truly one of the first potential contacts medical students have with a real patient.<\/p>\n

For this reason, I make it a rule to do everything possible to accompany them.<\/p>\n

We always do helpful things (like writing prescriptions) with the idea of spending enough time with patients so they\u00b4ll keep coming back throughout their lives.<\/p>\n

Thanks to Hogar San Jose, to allowed us to simulate a learning environment based on empathy and respect for life.\u00a0\u00a0 The group was very diverse, from all religions, very interested in HELPING.<\/p>\n

Even that same day, three dental students examined the patients, and we prepared referrals.<\/p>\n

Let\u00b4s support these initiatives to have supportive healthcare team members.<\/p>\n
