1 – 3 December 2022, Marseille – France<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the legendary port city of Marseille, France, the OIEC held its WORLD CONGRESS OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION, 1-3 December 2022, under the central theme of “The Catholic school as a body of hope to change the world – Building together the people of education”. Its outgoing Secretary General PILIPPHE RICHARD led the Congress in an extraordinary way and during the closing ceremony, handed over the leadership of this important organisation to HERV\u00c9 LECOMTE, the new Secretary General of the OIECS.<\/p>\n

The objectives of the congress were very precise and clearly developed:<\/p>\n

“To meet in joy and hope in order to bear witness to universal brotherhood.<\/p>\n

2.- Help our schools to commit to the Global Pact for Education and play a role in Education 2030 – Be spiritually nourished and go on a mission comforted – Learn what is happening here or there, and be inspired by it.<\/p>\n

3.- Show the experiments we are living both universally and regionally,<\/p>\n

4.- Invite other non-Catholic organisations to come and share their hopes with us.<\/p>\n

5.- Highlight the role of the OIEC.<\/p>\n

6.- To help connect our Establishments with other Establishments”.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It was a very interesting meeting both academically and humanly; teaching models and pedagogies to know how to reach the learners; meeting of various cultures and heartfelt fraternity, what great lessons learned in the inclusion of students of other religions in our Catholic schools, uplifting testimonies.<\/p>\n

The OMAEC was present through its President Mr. Alfonso Giraldo and congratulates the OIEC for this great Congress and in particular PILIPPHE RICHARD for his great work at the head of the Secretariat, as well as a warm welcome to HERV\u00c9 LECOMTE, the new Secretary General, and wishes him many successes at the head of the OIEC.<\/p>\n
